If you think you are good at writing

If you think you are good at writing there are many different ways for you to generate income.

Here is a site that will pay you for your original work. There are also ads listed in your area on Craigslist.org for content writers. Here is an example from my own neck of the woods:

Of course as with anything you have to weed out the rubbish. You can also search under ( also on craigslist) "gigs" and then writing.

Probably just signing up at one place will not be enough, so you would have to create multiple lines of income. That is the trick of the new era, you don't need 2 jobs to pay the bills anymore ...you need, apparently, several.

I like to write poems and get payed then it's a good idea. I actually found this encouraging. I can probably tick boxes 1 to 4, and am working towards 5 and 7. (I’m not that interested in competitions at the moment.) We never “arrive”, of course, but it’s good to know we’re moving in the right direction! ~ Lanla

Tea Time

It wasn't until I actually tried a piece of American fruit cake that I understood all the jokes. That's not how a fruit cake should taste. Sorry guys! That's NOT the way to make it. Here's one of my all time favorites, just happened to be one of Winston Churchill's also.

Dundee Cake

This is a traditional Scottish Fruit cake. Makes a 7-8 inch (18-20 cm) cake __________________________________________ 5oz (150g)butter, at room temperature __________________________________________ 5oz (150g) caster sugar __________________________________________ 3 large eggs __________________________________________ 8 oz ( 225g)plain,sifted flour __________________________________________ 1 level teaspoon baking powder __________________________________________ milk,if necessary __________________________________________ 6 oz (175g) sultanas __________________________________________ 6oz (175g)currants __________________________________________ 2oz glaced cherries,rinsed,dried, and cut into halves __________________________________________ 2oz(50g)mixed whole candied peel, finely chopped __________________________________________ 2 level teaspoons ground almonds __________________________________________ grated zest 1 small orange __________________________________________ grated zest 1 small lemon __________________________________________ 2 oz (50g) whole blanched almonds

Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 3, 325°F (170°C).

You will also need a 7-8 inch (18-20 cm) round tin, greased and lined with baking paper. Put the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl and beat with a wooden spoon until light and fluffy. Whisk the eggs separately then, a little at a time, beat them into the creamed butter and sugar. Next, using a large tablespoon, carefully fold in the flour and baking powder. Your mixture needs to be of a good, soft, dropping consistency so, if it seems too dry, add a dessertspoon of milk. Now carefully fold in the currants, sultanas, cherries, mixed peel, ground almonds and orange and lemon zests. Then spoon the mixture into the prepared cake tin. Next arrange the whole almonds in circles on top of the mixture. Careful not too press too hard. Place the cake in the centre of the oven and bake for 2-2½ hours or until the centre is firm and springy to the touch. Let it cool before taking it out of the tin. Wrap cooled cake in foil for at least 1 week before serving. Yield 14 slices. _______________________________________________________ Time for Scones _________________________________________ 8 cups all-purpose flour _________________________________________ 1 teaspoon salt _________________________________________ 1 teaspoon baking soda _________________________________________ 1 tablespoon baking powder _________________________________________ 4 sticks butter,cut into tiny cubes _________________________________________ 7 tablespoons sugar _________________________________________ 10 eggs, lightly beaten _________________________________________ 1 cup milk _________________________________________ 1 egg white, beaten

Preheat oven to 425 Sift flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Drop butter cubes over the flour mixture. Blend gently with fingers until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Sprinkle with sugar and add beaten eggs. MIx gently with hands until well combined. Add enough milk to make pie-dough consistency. Do not overwork. Pat out on floured table to form a large 1 - inch thick square. . Cut into small triangles ( bases about 2 inches). Bake for 18 minutes or until golden brown. For browner scones, coat with beaten egg white before baking. yields 75
